Current news:Black Lives matter

1.The Protests that followed George Floyd's death have seen people from all races and nationalities to come together. This picture from The New York Times captures the protesters anger in this time.In my opinion this picture is very powerful and shows the positive motion coming from such tragedy.

The Location of the picture is very important and makes the picture stand out. This shows the feeling of injustice by the police and shows the power of these protests. The police station in this photograph has been abandoned and boarded up for the protests.

In this picture the statue of Edward Colston was thrown into a river. In this photo you can tell a lot from the body language of most of the protestors you can mainly see a lot holding cameras taking pictures or videos this shows that it was a special occasion for this statue to be taken down.
The camera angle of this photo is very low and I think the photographer has done this to capture the face expression of the protestors.

2.in my opinion the police are mainly seen as the enemy in these protests. The reason that the police are presented as the enemy in these protests are the fact they are allowed to use violence to stop protesters. This has the effect of people retaliating and people getting injured because of the police and violence this therefore furthers the view of them being the bad people in the situation.

In this picture the man is getting tear gassed this is a very powerful picture with the way the man is standing he is standing with his two arms in front of him this is shows he is not harming or attempting to harm the police officers but the police still tear gas him. This definatly makes you feel like the police are the bad people in this situation

This is a picture from ABC news this is a very strong and powerful image taken of policemen kneeling with protesters this shows that not all cops are bad and they shouldn't all be punished or looked down upon because of the other officers that are racist. The body language of these officers shows they are sad or ashamed about what has happened this shows the kindness and compassion of some police officers.

3.The target audience for these protests are for the government to make changes to the system and to stop any kind of racism. The main person that these protests are trying to reach to make change is Donald Trump. The media target audience is all people that are trying to learn more about the protests.
The main way people will see news depends on the ages of the people.Young people will learn about the protests through Social media where as older people will watch/read the news to learn about it.In my opinion you can get a lot more information through social media then you can through the news.

4.From looking at the New York Times they are for black lives matter. I think this because they are reporting a lot on the protests especially about the negatives of the police in these times.I think that this might be to do with how many people are for black lives matter therefore if they went against black lives matter they would have a lot of backlash which would be bad for business.

5.In question 1 I wrote about the new York times the person who owns the New York Times is Arthur ochs Sulzberger jr

6.If the media platform owners are not for black lives matter they can block the content or not promote it as much therefore people will be getting half the story then there actually is.
